The month of October is quickly approaching, and I am 100% ready for the spooky season to begin! I’ve already begun hauling my Halloween decorations out of the storage closet, ready to decorate on October 1st.
Of course, I’m not just excited for October because of Halloween…
I’m also excited because from October 1st through the 31st, I will be participating in FrightFall. This spooky readathon is run by Michelle over on Seasons of Reading, and challenges readers to read at least one scary book (horror, mystery/thriller, Gothic novel, etc.) during the month of October.
This will be my first time participating in FrightFall, and I’m really looking forward to it. I’ve been gathering a considerable number of new spooky books since the beginning of the year, and I’m really looking forward to reading them throughout the coming month.
Since FrightFall does last for an entire month, I will be posting reviews of the books I choose to read here on The Unapologetic Bookworm throughout the readathon, rather than waiting until the end of the event.
To accommodate these additional spooky reviews, I will be reducing my POPSUGAR Reading Challenge updates to one post every other week (on the 2nd, 16th, and 30th) for the duration of October. I am also planning to increase my number of weekly posts during the coming month, so I hope you’ll visit The Unapologetic Bookworm frequently for new content.
As I’ve done for previous readathons, I will be posting a readathon wrap-up once FrightFall has ended. If you would like more frequent updates, you will be able to follow my progress and see pictures of the books I choose to read throughout the month on Instagram.
If you’d like to learn more about FrightFall, or you’d like to sign up and participate, I hope you’ll check out the readathon’s sign up post on Seasons of Reading.
