Good morning, everyone! I hope that you are having a wonderful weekend so far, and that you are continuing to stay healthy! After two weeks of early POPSUGAR Reading Challenge updates, I have to say that it felt a little strange to wait until Saturday to publish this one.
As many of you already know, last weekend I had the opportunity to participate in the Dewey’s 24 Hour Reverse Readathon, which was a tremendous amount of fun. I ended up reading a total of five books during the challenge, and was a little over halfway through my sixth book when the Reverse Readathon ended. If you weren’t able to follow my progress through the challenge on the 7th and 8th, you can find all of my Reverse Readathon posts in the Readathon category here on The Unapologetic Bookworm.
This week I began reading my next book for the POPSUGAR Reading Challenge, Lilith’s Brood, by Octavia E. Butler. This particular book is actually three novels in one, and includes Dawn, Adulthood Rites, and Imago. I had the opportunity to read Dawn back in college as part of my science fiction seminar course, but this is the first time that I’ve read the rest of the trilogy. Rather than discussing each book separately, I am going to talk about the trilogy as a whole once I’ve finished reading it. I am currently about halfway through the second book, so I will definitely have all of the books read by next Saturday’s update.
I hope you’ll visit The Unapologetic Bookworm next week for more reviews of the great books that I read during the Reverse Readathon, as well as a movie review.
Have a great weekend!
