Good morning, everybody! I hope that you are all having a wonderful weekend so far, and that you are continuing to stay healthy.
It has been a difficult week for my family. My grandmother had another fall earlier in the week, and is currently receiving hospice care at the retirement home where she lives. While hospice is doing what they can to control her pain, she’s not eating very much, and it sounds as if her body is beginning to shut down. Because of the threat of Covid-19, her retirement home has been on lockdown since March, and we have been unable to visit for the past couple of months. It’s really frustrating to feel like you can’t do anything to help, and it’s especially hard on my mum. We would greatly appreciate your thoughts and prayers during this time.
As you might expect, reading hasn’t been much of a priority this week. I did manage to finish one of my remaining library books, but elected not to finish the second when I just couldn’t immerse myself in the story after reading the first hundred pages.
At this particular time, I am going to refrain from setting a reading goal for next week. I am currently planning to post my next POPSUGAR Reading Challenge update on Saturday, as usual, and will try to post additional content as frequently as possible. However, my main focus right now is my family. Please bear with me if my posts are somewhat sporadic over the next few weeks.
