POPSUGAR Reading Challenge 2020 Update: Week Eighteen

Happy Saturday, everyone! I am so excited to announce that The Unapologetic Bookworm officially has 50 followers! Thank you all so much for your support! It is truly a pleasure to be able to share my writing with all of you.

So I was looking back at last week’s POPSUGAR Reading Challenge update earlier this morning, and I discovered that I had neglected to set a reading goal for this week. That was a complete accident on my part, but it actually turned out to be a good thing considering how little I read after completing the Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon last weekend.

Participating in the Readathon was a tremendous amount of fun, but it did cause me to experience a tiny bit of reading burnout, as well as a significant amount of sleep deprivation. It’s taken me most of the week to get back into my normal reading habits, and what reading I have done has mostly been comic books and fanfiction. But now that I’ve taken a short (if unplanned) break, I should be able to dive back into the Reading Challenge next week without any problems.

Since May has officially begun, I will need to focus on meeting a very specific reading deadline. While my local library sent out an email to say that they will be remaining closed for the “foreseeable future,” all of my library books are still due back on May 12th. I’ve had this stack of books since February, but there are still two that I haven’t read, one of which will fulfill a POPSUGAR Reading Challenge prompt. I really don’t want to have to take any of my library books back unread, so my reading goal for next week is to read both of these books.

I hope you will visit The Unapologetic Bookworm frequently during the upcoming week for book reviews, Star Wars Day, and (assuming my Blu-Ray actually gets here when Amazon says it will) my thoughts about the recent Bloodshot movie adaptation.

Have a fantastic weekend!
