Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon: Eighteen Hours Done, Six Left To Go…

We’re down to the final six hours of the Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon, and I have to confess that I am starting to get sleepy. Time feels like it’s beginning to pass more slowly as well, which is not helping the situation. I am still determined to complete the entire Readathon, and I do feel like I can keep going at this point, but sleep is sounding progressively more appealing.

Since my previous update, I have read an additional six books, completing my reading of the Saint Tail manga series, and bringing my total number of books up to eleven.

  • Saint Tail: volume two (Megumi Tachikawa)
  • Saint Tail: volume three (Megumi Tachikawa)
  • Saint Tail: volume four (Megumi Tachikawa)
  • Saint Tail: volume five (Megumi Tachikawa)
  • Saint Tail: volume six (Megumi Tachikawa)
  • Saint Tail: volume seven (Megumi Tachikawa)
The pile keeps getting taller!

I am currently reading The Blue Sword, by Robin McKinley. I know that I read this book when I was a teenager, but that was quite a while ago, and I’m finding that I have forgotten pretty much all of it. It is really good, however, so I’m glad I decided to re-read it.

Unfortunately, I think the final six hours of the Readathon are going to be pretty tough for me. I am going to try listening to music as I read (with headphones, so as not to annoy my next-door neighbors), so we’ll see if that helps. We’re going for very upbeat, instrumental tunes which will hopefully keep me engaged and alert, but not distract me from reading. My final Readathon update will be posted around 8 AM (Eastern time).

Wish me luck!
