Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon: We’ve Reached the Halfway Point!

Hello, everyone! I’ve just reached the halfway point of the Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon! The first 12 hours of the Readathon have gone very well. I’ve had the opportunity to read some truly wonderful books, and I’m already looking forward to reviewing them over the coming weeks. So far, I am not showing any signs of fatigue, and I’m eager to continue reading.

Since my previous update, I have read two more books, bringing my total for the day up to five.

  • Capturing the Devil (Kerri Maniscalco)
  • Saint Tail: volume one (Megumi Tachikawa)

I am currently reading volume two of Saint Tail, which is an absolutely adorable shōjo manga series, and plan to finish the series prior to my next update.

My book pile hasn’t grown very much since my last update, but I’m pleased with my progress so far.

Even though I made it through the first half of the Readathon without any problems, I have a feeling that the next 12 hours are going to be a little more difficult. While I frequently stay up reading until the early morning hours, it has been a very long time since I last pulled a true “all-nighter.” I’m pretty sure the last time was when I was in college, and I can guarantee that there was caffeine involved. (I drank a ridiculous amount of caffeinated soda as a college student. Honestly, it’s a miracle that I managed to avoid a caffeine overdose.)

As I move into the second half of the Readathon, I really want to focus on reading books that I know will keep me hooked on a good story. In addition to finishing Saint Tail, I will be focusing on reading books that contain plenty of action and adventure.

My next Readathon update will be posted around 2 AM (Eastern time), but I will also be posting another book review later on this evening. If you are interested in reading reviews of either of the titles that I finished during this part of the Readathon, please let me know by commenting on this post.
