In which the author confesses that she is a bookworm…

Hello everyone! K.L. Middleton here, coming to you with a brand new website dedicated to my first love…books!

One of the first things that anyone learns about me (other than the fact that I am a massive geek) is that I am a bookworm, and I see no reason to apologize for that fact. Reading has been a huge part of my life ever since I was a baby. My parents made a point of reading to me before I even knew what words were, and the first time I was ever taken anywhere as a newborn was to a bookstore. Some of my favorite memories, both as a child and as an adult, involve books.

So what does it mean to be an unapologetic bookworm?

We’re the people who carry a book around with us wherever we go, even though it makes our purse (or backpack) much heavier than it needs to be. We have difficulty walking out of a bookstore (grocery store, drug store, etc.) without buying at least one new book. Our relationships with fictional characters sometimes become more meaningful than our interactions with actual human beings. We’ve gotten in trouble for reading while a teacher was talking. And on occasion, we completely ignore our families in favor of “just a few more pages…”

If any of these statements apply to you, you’re in excellent company. The Unapologetic Bookworm is all about sharing the love of reading. You’ll find a variety of detailed, honest book reviews that will help you find new titles and authors to check out. I will also share author experiences, my latest literary obsessions, some book-related humor, and even some education/literacy materials for teachers and parents.

If you’re in the mood to read more and just can’t wait for the next update, you can check out more of my writing over at Uncommon Considerations, my personal blog about my geeky life. I hope you’ll follow me on both websites.

You can also follow me on Twitter @UnapologBkworm (for The Unapologetic Bookworm) and @whitewolfofsta1 (for Uncommon Considerations).

    1. Thanks so much for checking out my website! I’m glad you’re here! Personally I agree with you that there’s nothing abnormal about being a geek, but it’s amazing how many people I’ve met over the years who seem to think that I should act “less geeky.” They don’t know how much fun they’re missing. ^_^
